Dog days of summer might almost be over, but there is still time to squeeze in some fun!
The sun is out, the BBQ is on and we’re spending more time outdoors with our family, friends, and of course our four-legged friends.
That being said, it’s very important to monitor the exposure to the sun and guarantee protection against the harmful rays while outdoors.
When it comes to summer shopping I always try to buy things I can use year round, so I’m sharing my top summer picks that you can buy right now and use all year long.
Sunscreen for dogs?
When applying sunscreen on your dog, be sure to avoid the eyes. It’s important to apply on the exposed skin areas – around your dog’s face, ears and belly.
Keep your pooch protected with a dog-approved sunscreen, like this one:
Turn any plastic soda bottle into a portable shower.
Great for after the beach, after a hike, or just to cool your pup down!
This collapsible bowl is perfect for kibble or water on the go.
It caught my eye for being water repellant, lightweight, machine washable and it has weighted corners and stakes to keep it from blowing away in the wind.
This dog pool from FrontPet was constructed from extra-tough PVC material made for long lasting use. Simply fill with water and open sealed drain to empty before storage or transportation.
Can also be used as a dog bath tub, outdoor water pond, fish pond, baby bathtub.
Dogs love to swim and when it comes to water, there is no such thing as being too safe.
The Granby Splash dog life jacket by Outward Hound is constructed with extra durable ripstop material that provides comfortable buoyancy in the water and doesn’t restrict their movement on land.
The bright orange color and sleek reflective piping help to quickly identify your dog in and out of the water.
The dog float by Paws Aboard is made of a thick, sun-resistant vinyl fabric shaped like a dog foot print.
It features puncture-free guarantee from dog claws (not cat claw resistant).
The cooling mat prevents overheating and dehydration in the heat. It can be used on the floor, couches, beds at home, also it can be used in the car seat, parks, beaches, etc.
The mat is made with a non-toxic cooling gel that does not require water, freezing or electricity to activate.
The self-charging pad keeps pets for up to 8 hours of continuous relief. Your pet’s body temperature will cause the mat to eventually warm up, so it’s recommended to remove it from the pet and allow the air temperature to recharge it, bringing the temperature back down.
Paw protection for dogs who hike, bike, run or explore the great outdoors with their humans.
It’s engineered to provide the highest level of protection possible for your dog’s paws in extreme environments and variable types of terrain. Protects paws from sand, hot pavement, ice and salt.
Help your pooch cool down on dog days of summer with tasty doggie popsicles. Use popsicle molds for a classic looking popsicle.
I am also planning to write a post with homemade dog popsicle recipes, so stay tuned.
What do you have planned for you and your dog this summer? What are your tips for beating the heat?
