Happy Tip Tuesday!
Today I’m starting a new weekly series called Tip Tuesday.
And guess what? Each week I’ll share a top dog training, behavior, and care tips featuring the best advice from real dog moms.
Why Tip Tuesday? One of the greatest gifts Instagram has given me is being able to connect with wonderful people who share the same passion. Where we exchange information, adventures, and tips on how to live the best life with our furkid.
I hope today’s Tip Tuesday helps out and inspires some of you as well! So comment below some tips you want to see or something you want to learn how to do. We’ll figure it out together!
Let’s get started!
Today I’m sharing a tip from Allison, Maverick’s mom. They also have an Instagram account where they share their adventures. Be sure to follow them: @mav_the_mal.
TODAY’S HOT TIP TUESDAY
How to Build Confidence and Trust With Your Dog
“Always make your Malinois sit, wait/watch you walk through the door first, make your Mal wait to be the last one through the door. And have him/her wait for your permission to go through.
This practice can be applied to other activities (like if you let your Mal on the couch or bed, they’re not allowed on until you’re settled and give them permission).”
It can be hard to resist that perfect Malinois face with those eager Malinois eyes! But establishing boundaries will, in fact, keep your Mal at ease and confident in his trust in you!” Allison Proffer
Maverick was previously a protection dog with a private security firm. He was phased out and is now personal dog for Allison and has transitioned to become a support animal.
Allison is continually learning and her relationship with Maverick continues to develop and grow every day with work and intention.
Over a year after transitioning to a family, Maverick still protects his family. He is loyal, committed, and has adapted to his new, more relaxed lifestyle.
